Region and States Recognized as ELDS and Catchment States for Nigeria Universities
In my last published article, we discussed extensively on three major criteria used to determine who gets admitted, which are Merit, Catchment Area, and Educationally Less Developed States (ELDS).
Findings reveal that, Admission into all Federal Higher Institutions of learning via Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in Nigeria is based on the following quota:
- Merit – 45%
- Catchment Area – 35%
- Educationally Less Developed States
(ELDS) – 20%
Now that you’ve got a handle on Catchment Area and ELDS admissions, let’s dive into the regions and communities that benefit from ELDS programs.
REGION AND THEIR CATCHMENT STATES
