FG Condemns Students’ Immoral Sign-Out Practice, Urges Collective Action

The Federal Government has strongly condemned the rising trend of imm+ral activities associated with the “sign-out” tradition among students of tertiary institutions and secondary schools across the country.

Speaking at an enlightenment campaign on government policies, the Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, emphasized the need for collective action to curb the practice.

Represented by the Director of Human Resources, Mrs. Ayisola Olowoyo, Issa-Onilu decried the manner in which students misuse sign-out celebrations.

His words: “The Federal Government is concerned with the growing trend of imm+rality among students across the country. Celebrating success is good but for young people to start imm+rality, exposing and touching private parts within educational institutions, against national values.”

He explained that one of the reasons behind the Federal Government’s planned launch of a national charter is to promote discipline and instil values across all sectors.

“One of the reasons the Federal Government would be launching national charter is to instil discipline and values in our daily lives across all sectors. Parents and school administrators should also take serious steps towards cautioning their children and students from immorality, especially in schools,” he added.

Also speaking at the event, the Osun State Director of NOA, Mr. Adebiyi Stephen, noted that beyond moral orientation, the agency has been working with the state government to sensitize residents in flood-prone areas on preventive measures.

According to him, this collaboration aims to mitigate the risk of flooding and safeguard lives and property.
