Abia Gov’s Wife Pledges Delivery kits for Nursing Mothers

The wife of the Abia State governor, Mrs. Priscilla Otti, has pledged to provide delivery kits for nursing mothers in the state. This move aims to reduce the mortality rate of maternal and newborn babies in Abia State. Mrs. Otti made this commitment while speaking at the flag-off ceremony of the Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Week 2024.

She commended the state government and the Abia State Primary Healthcare Development Agency for prioritizing the health of Abians, particularly maternal and newborn babies. Mrs. Otti emphasized the importance of improving healthcare services and skills to prevent deaths from preventable causes .

The Mayor of Umuahia South Local Government Area, Mr. Chinedu Enwereuzo, also expressed his support for the initiative, encouraging women in his council to take advantage of the free healthcare services provided by the Abia State Primary Health Care Development Agency.
