BUK reopening registration portal for students, grants suspension of studies to non-registrants
The management of Bayero University Kano (BUK) has reopened the registration portal for students who Sat for the first semester examination without payment and grants suspension of studies to non-registrants.
This was contained in a statement released by the institution on the night of Thursday 28th of November,2024 which was signed by Lamara Garba who’s the deputy registrar.
According to the memo, The Senate of Bayero University, Kano was said to have granted a six weeks extension for students who sat for the First Semester examinations without paying their registration fees. This decision was taken at the 418th Senate meeting of Wednesday, November 27, 2024, following a submission by the Vice Chancellor.
It also mentioned that, “The extension which is effective from Thursday 28 November, 2024 is intended to allow students complete their registration. However, students who fail to pay their registration fees within the extended period will be required to suspend their studies for 2023/2024 session.”
The memo further to include that ,the Senate has granted suspension of studies for the 2023/2024 session for students who have been unable to register due to unforeseen circumstances and did not write the first Semester examinations.
This decision demonstrates the university’s commitment to supporting indigent students.
