Cross Rivers State Government Approves Establishment of Two New Institutions.

In a groundbreaking development for Cross River State, Governor Bassey Otu has signed into law two pivotal bills establishing the Cross River University of Education and Entrepreneurship in Akamkpa and the Cross River College of Agriculture in Obubra.

The Positive Voice gathered that the laws, titled the “Cross River University of Education and Entrepreneurship Law 2024” and the “Cross River College of Agriculture Law 2024,” were signed during the State Executive Council meeting held on Thursday.

Speaking during the event, Governor Otu assured that the appointment of governing councils and principal officers for the two institutions would be prioritized in the coming weeks. The Positive Voice further learned that the University of Education and Entrepreneurship replaces the former State College of Education, Akamkpa, while the College of Agriculture in Obubra transitions from being a campus of the University of Cross River, Calabar.

– The Cross River Lotteries and Gaming Agency Law 2024,

– The Cross River Water User Association Law 2024, and

– The Amendment of the Cross River Counterpart Fund Law 2024.
