Dangote University Set to Graduate 18,000 Students for 2024/2025 Academic Session

Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, Kano State, is set to make history as it prepares to graduate 18,000 students during its long-anticipated 2025 Convocation Ceremony, scheduled to hold on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the university’s convocation arena.
This significant academic event will see the conferment of first, second, and third degrees upon graduates spanning seven different sets, marking a major milestone in the university’s journey of academic excellence.
Speaking at a press briefing held on Tuesday, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Musa Tukur Yakasai, described the upcoming convocation as a landmark occasion, as the institution has not held a convocation ceremony in the past ten years. He revealed that the ceremony would also serve as the university’s Silver Jubilee celebration, commemorating 25 years since its establishment.
Professor Yakasai disclosed that five eminent Nigerians will be honoured with Honorary Doctorate Degrees in recognition of their outstanding contributions to society and national development. The honourees include renowned legal icon Dr. Adeniyi Raji (SAN); esteemed businessman, Chief Arthur Eze; Katsina-based entrepreneur Alhaji Dahiru Barau Mangal; former Kano State Governor and Founding Visitor of the university; and respected Kano industrialist, Alhaji Mustapha Ado, owner of Amasco Oil Company.
The Vice-Chancellor further stated that security arrangements have been meticulously put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the ceremony, especially given the high-profile nature of the event and the calibre of guests expected from all six geopolitical zones of Nigeria.
“In addition to the convocation, the investiture of the Chancellor, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, will also take place on the same day,” he added, noting that the event would be graced by dignitaries from across the country.
He concluded by appreciating the unwavering support of Kano State Governor, Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf, for his commitment to the advancement of the institution.
