Delta State Set to Commence 2023/2024 Bursary Payment to Over 30,000 Students

The Delta State Government has initiated the disbursement of the 2023/2024 Students Special Assistance Scheme (Bursary Award), providing financial support to thousands of students from the state enrolled in tertiary institutions nationwide.

Dr. Godfrey Enita, the Executive Secretary of the Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board, announced in Asaba that payments will officially commence on February 3, 2025. The Positive Voice News Outlet gathered that a total of 32,028 students have been approved as beneficiaries.

He acknowledged Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s commitment to education and student welfare, stating that this initiative aligns with the state’s broader efforts to enhance learning opportunities.

“This bursary is exclusively for students of Delta State origin who have completed the necessary application and verification processes,” Enita noted.

Dr. Enita urged all 32,028 beneficiaries to utilize the funds judiciously, emphasizing that the scheme is designed to ease their financial burdens and encourage academic excellence.

“The Board encourages all students benefiting from this scheme to take their studies seriously and be worthy ambassadors of Delta State in their respective institutions,” he added.
