AFRICA | An exceptional Lady bags 5.00/5.00 CGPA in Computer Science, wins best graduating student award.

An exceptional young woman, Firdous Bakare, has achieved an extraordinary academic milestone by graduating with a perfect 5.00 cumulative grade point average (CGPA) in Computer Science from Afe Babalola University, Nigeria.

Her outstanding performance earned her the title of Best Graduating Student in both the Department of Computer Science and the university’s College of Sciences.

Sharing her excitement on LinkedIn, Firdous reflected on her journey. “My past self could never have imagined finishing with a first-class degree in a STEM field—let alone a perfect CGPA of 5.0,” she said.

Her accomplishments extended beyond academics. Firdous was inducted into the prestigious Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN), marking a significant step in her professional journey.

Despite beginning her university studies as a transfer student, Firdous overcame the challenges with the help of a strong support system

She expressed heartfelt gratitude to her parents, sister, brothers, friends, supervisors, lecturers, and, most importantly, Almighty Allah for guiding her throughout the journey.

In addition to her academic excellence, Firdous actively participated in extracurricular activities.

She served as the Academic Director for the Nigerian Association of Computing Students (NACOS), ABUAD Chapter, and represented her school at a tech convention at Babcock University, where she was part of the winning inter-school debate team.

Firdous also showcased her athleticism as a member of the university’s volleyball team. Looking ahead, Firdous expressed her excitement for the future. “I am excited for what’s next and grateful for every step of this journey,” she said.
