FUOYE Names Buildings and Roads After Tinubu, Jonathan, Obasanjo, Alakija, Others

The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has named several buildings, roads, and facilities after notable Nigerians in recognition of their contributions to education and national development.
Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abayomi Sunday Fasina, made the announcement, stating that 43 structures on the campus now bear the names of distinguished individuals. Among those honored are President Bola Tinubu, former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, and Africa’s richest woman, Chief Folorunso Alakija.
Other honorees include renowned scholars such as Professors J. F. Ade Ajayi, Wole Soyinka, and Dora Akunyili, as well as prominent political and business figures, including former Governor Kayode Fayemi, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, and Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh. Additionally, major roads within the university have been named after past Vice-Chancellors.
The initiative, according to Fasina, is a tribute to individuals who have made significant contributions to education, governance, and national development.
