FUT Minna Set to Graduate Over 5,000 Students for 2023/2024 Convocation Ceremony

The Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUT Minna) is set to graduate 5,816 students during its 2023/2024 convocation ceremony, with 119 students graduating with First Class honors, according to the institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta.

Speaking at a pre-convocation press briefing, professor Kuta outlined the breakdown of graduating students:
– 4,955 undergraduates
– 632 Master’s graduates
– 105 Postgraduate Diplomas
– 124 PhD recipients

The Positive Voice gathered that the undergraduate degree classifications include 1,431 Second Class Upper, 2,341 Second Class Lower, 972 Third Class, and 92 Pass degrees.

Professor Kuta highlighted that all programs at FUT Minna have attained full accreditation, with e-learning platforms implemented to enhance teaching delivery. He also noted that the university has sponsored 112 staff for conferences and workshops, promoted 74 staff to Professor and Associate Professor, and approved advancements for 174 senior non-teaching and 34 junior staff members.

Addressing the growing hostel accommodation challenge, the Vice-Chancellor emphasized the need for partnerships with individuals, groups, and organizations to develop more student housing. He called for investments through build-operate-transfer (BOT) or build-and-operate models to meet the increasing demand for on-campus accommodation.
