JAMB uncovers 585 fake A-Level certificates

JAMB reports discovery of 585 forged A-Level certificates in 2025, four suspects taken into custody.

This startling revelation was made by the Registrar, Prof.
Ishaq Oloyede, during a virtual meeting with staff of the board held on 2nd April 2025, in preparation for the 2025 Mock-UTME and UTME.
The Registrar expressed concern over fake A-Level certificates, stating that the Nigeria Integrated Post-Secondary Education Data System is a platform for collecting and managing post-secondary education data.
He expressed greater concern about the upload of 13 forged IJMB certificates by Professional Registration Centres, which are currently under investigation.
He stated that out of the 13 cases being investigated by the police, four culprits have been apprehended and are currently assisting the police and relevant authorities towards apprehending the ringleaders of these examination cartels.
He, however, added that the investigation revealed that there were internal collaborators in the institutions aiding and abetting this gross misconduct.
The Registrar pointed out the exploitation of candidates by some CBT centers, which is a serious issue that needs to be addressed.
The Registrar stressed the importance of accountability and transparency in staff’s work, ensuring that the Board’s integrity is maintained.
