Kogi Poly Rector Commends JAMB Registrar, Prof. Oloyede, Over UTME Glitch Response

Lokoja, Nigeria – May 18, 2025
The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Professor Salisu Usman, has commended the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Ishaq Oloyede, for his uncommon courage and leadership in openly taking responsibility for the recent 2025 UTME technical glitch that affected over 300,000 candidates nationwide.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Professor Usman described the gesture as a rare demonstration of integrity and sincerity, noting that although the institution does not celebrate the occurrence of the glitch, it deeply appreciates the leadership qualities shown by the JAMB boss.
“As an institution, we acknowledge the disruption caused by the glitch, but we also recognize and salute your strength of character, sincerity of purpose, and refusal to shift blame, despite obvious opportunities to do so,” he stated.
He added: “As one of your mentees, I have continued to draw inspiration from your conduct over the years. Your handling of this recent issue reinforces vital lessons in leadership, accountability, and selflessness.”
The Rector further applauded the Board for initiating corrective measures and allowing affected candidates to retake the examination, expressing confidence in JAMB’s continued commitment to excellence.
“We believe that, under your leadership, the Board will implement even stronger safeguards to prevent future occurrences. We pray for God’s continued guidance and protection upon you,” he concluded.
