LASU DEBUNKS NEWS OVER 2025/2026 ADMISSION PROCESSING

The attention of the Lagos State University Management has been drawn to a misleading and false notice being circulated by certain associations, bodies and groups concerning the 2025/2026 admission process of Lagos State University.
One such misleading notice, issued under the auspices of Eko Club and purportedly signed by Mr Kazeem Babatunde Kaffo OHB (Hon. General Secretary, Eko Club), falsely claims that the University is requesting candidates who are indigenes of Lagos State, with a minimum score of 200 in the 2025 UTME (JAMB) and the requisite SSCE results, to submit their credentials to Eko Club Manager on or before 25th August 2025.
Another such notice was disseminated by the Media Office of the Executive Chairman, Ibeju Local Government, with contact details 08121119249, requesting indigenes of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government who selected Lagos State University in the last Post-UTME examination and have successfully completed the University’s screening exercise, to submit their admission screening slips to the office of the Executive Chairman, Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, on or before 22nd August 2025.
In response to these spurious claims, the University Management wishes to clarify the following:
i. The information being circulated is misleading, false and deceptive.
ii. Lagos State University’s admission process is strictly merit-based.
iii. Details regarding the admission process for the 2025/2026 academic session are available on the University’s official website: lasu.edu.ng, as well as on its approved social media platforms and official bulletin.
iv. The transparency and integrity of LASU’s admission process have earned it recognition by JAMB as the most sought-after university in Nigeria.
It should also be noted that, as of the time of this publication, ALL Lagos State indigenes who scored 195 and above in 2025 UTME, subscribed to Lagos State University (LASU), and have successfully defended their claim of indigeneship before the University Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC) have all been offered admission by the University.
In light of the above, the University Management once again reiterates its advice to the general public to disregard the false information in circulation and rely solely on the University’s website and official social media platforms for accurate and up-to-date information regarding admissions and other institutional matters.
Thank you.
Signed
