NECO ROLLS OUT REDUCTION OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE QUESTIONS FOR INTERNAL EXAMINATIONS

NOTIFICATION FOR REDUCTION OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE PAPER III QUESTIONS FOR SSCE INTERNAL

I am directed to inform you that the Registrar/Chief Executive has approved a reduction in the number of objective questions for English Language paper III from 100 to 80, effective from 2026 SSCE Internal.

This shall be the structure of the paper:

Session 1- Antonyms – 10 questions

Session 2- Appropriateness of Registers – 10 questions Session 3- Appropriate interpretation of Idioms, Phrasal Verbs and Foreign Words – 10 questions

Session 4- Synonyms – 10 questions

Session 5- Grammatical Structures – 10 questions

Session 6- Cloze Text – 10 questions Total 80 questions NOTE: Timing for Paper III will be 50 minutes.
