OAU Addresses Students’ Concerns Over Smart I.D. Cards

The Division of Student Affairs, Obafemi Awolowo University, has acknowledged the concerns of students regarding the delay in the production of the promised smart I.D. cards.

Following a meeting with the leadership of the Great Ife Students’ Union on Thursday, May 22, 2025, the DSA attributed the delay to technical issues related to the integration of smart features into the cards. According to the Division, the issue has been resolved, and the first batch of I.D. cards is expected to be delivered by Wednesday, May 28, 2025.

The DSA assured students of the University’s commitment to their welfare and the protection of their rights, pledging continued efforts to provide a conducive learning environment.
