The Vice chancellor of the University Of Ilorin, Prof Wahab Olasupo Egbewole has commends the efforts of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Registra, Prof Oloyede over the transparency in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Egbewole mentioned this in a letter sent to registrar on Thursday 15th of May ,2025.
He said, “We hereby write to appreciate you on how the developments on the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination was handled by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board under your leadership.”
He continued that “As a University, we want to put on record the fact that the Board approached the issues that arose on the result with truthfulness and nothing was hidden from the public. This approach demonstrated courage, honesty of purpose, integrity, strength of character, and on the whole a call to the younger generation to emulate these positive values.”
He also stated that, “The admission of the error committed by one of the service providers culminating in the result that affected more than 300,000 candidates could have been laid at the doorstep of the service provider but you took full responsibility. This is an uncommon phenomenon in Nigeria.”
He mentioned that, “We pray that God will continue to lead you and grant you the grace to be of more invaluable service to our country. Well done sir and we are indeed very proud of you as our distinguished Alumnus and worthy Ambassador.”
