Outstanding leadership and achievements of Mr. Sulaiman Abdulrahmon as principal Al-Irshaad Comprehensive College, Ikirun.
Since assuming office as the Principal of Al-Irshaad Comprehensive College on 6th January 2025, Mr. Sulaiman AbdulRahmon has consistently demonstrated exemplary leadership, unwavering dedication, and a strong commitment to excellence. A man of high integrity, elite character, and a personable disposition, Mr. Abdulrahmon has brought transformative changes to the school, significantly improving academic standards, student discipline, and overall institutional performance.
Under his visionary leadership, several commendable milestones have been achieved. He has effectively coordinated student affairs, restructured traditional school practices, and established a robust disciplinary committee to enforce rules and promote a culture of respect and responsibility among students. One notable policy he introduced is the strict prohibition of vernacular, particularly Yoruba, within the school premises to encourage fluency in English and promote academic communication.
Mr. Abdulrahmon has instilled punctuality and discipline across both students and staff, ensuring a productive and orderly school environment. He has also championed student engagement in various academic and extracurricular activities. Under his leadership, Al-Irshaad Comprehensive College has actively participated in several competitions, achieving remarkable results, including:
- 1st Position in Qur’an Competition at Markaz Central for Islamic and Arabic Studies, Iragbiji
- 1st Position in the “Pick and Talk” Competition
- 2nd Position in Creative Writing
- 3rd Position in Calligraphy
- 4th Position in a prior Qur’an Recitation Competition
- 4th Position in Quiz Competition — all from the AMIS Competition
Mr. Abdulrahmon also spearheaded the implementation of a structured science practical program, ensuring that science students receive the hands-on experience necessary for academic success. He revitalized the use of the laboratory to prepare students for their upcoming WAEC and NECO examinations.
To foster a culture of continuous learning and healthy academic rivalry, he introduced a weekly inter-class competition. In collaboration with Mr. Abdulwasi Adéwálé Oyediran, he played a pivotal role in securing the school’s successful accreditation as an examination center for both WAEC and NECO.
Beyond academics, Mr. Abdulrahmon has enriched student life through educational field trips—such as the students’ excursion to Salim FM Radio Station — and in-school practical engagements that enhance real-world learning.
He introduced structural reforms in school events by separating the End-of-Year Party and the Valedictory Service for the primary and secondary sections, creating a more organized and meaningful experience for each group.
Furthermore, he initiated the creation of the school’s official Facebook page for the publication of school activities and launched a new communication platform for parents and teachers, strengthening the school-home relationship. He also oversaw the selection of the PTA committee to unify parental voices and ensure smooth communication. Another notable move was the appointment of a new Headmistress for the primary section to enhance leadership at all levels.
Through his remarkable determination, integrity, and unwavering focus on school progress, Mr. SULAIMAN Abdulrahmon continues to set new standards of excellence at Al-Irshaad Comprehensive College, leaving a lasting impact on both students and staff.
