UNIZIK Student Attacks Lecturer Over Video Recording Dispute

A disturbing incident at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, Anambra State, has sparked widespread reactions after a female student physically assaulted a lecturer who interrupted her while she was recording a dance video.

The Positive Voice gathered that the confrontation occurred within the university premises and was captured in a viral video that has been making rounds on social media.

According to eyewitnesses, the student was filming a dance clip, presumably for TikTok, inside a lecture hall when the lecturer, needing to pass, tapped her on the back to get her attention and signal her to stop. Reports indicate that he also requested that she delete the footage as his face had been inadvertently captured in the recording.

However, what started as a simple request quickly escalated into a violent scene. The student reportedly became aggressive, attacking the lecturer by biting him multiple times. Despite attempts to restrain her, she allegedly tore his clothes, slapped him, and scratched his face, leaving onlookers in shock.

In the footage, other students can be seen watching the altercation unfold, with some attempting to separate the pair. The incident created a scene of commotion within the institution.

Further investigations by The Positive Voice revealed that the student’s mother is a lecturer in the Engineering department at UNIZIK, adding another layer of controversy to the situation.

The university management has yet to release an official statement regarding the matter, but the incident has reignited discussions on student conduct, disciplinary measures, and the influence of social media trends on campus behavior.
